A Review of Feature Model Position in the Software Product Line and Its Extraction Methods

The software has become a modern asset and competitive product. The product line that has long been used in manufacturing and construction industries nowadays has attracted a lot of attention in software industry. Most importance of product line engineering approach is in cost and time issues involved in marketing. Feature model is one of the most important methods of documenting variability in product line that shows product features and their dependencies. Because of the magnitude and complexity of the product line, build and maintain feature models are complex and time-consuming work.
