Gesture Technologies & Elderly- Overview

In recent years technology has evolved at high speed, everything around us is changing at fast pace. Aim of the present work is to evaluate to which degree especially elderly users are able to use gesture input technologies and how one can tailor these technologies to their need, however performance of these device is out of scope. In addition, it assess all the available and upcoming gesture technologies in the market and evaluates whether elderly might even benefit from intuitive gesture input compared to traditional input modes such as function buttons and little joysticks which are typically used in mobile devices. Users experience sense of control when computer responds to movements that feel natural. Gesture input ideally allows to focus on task and not on input device.
