It is the policy of the Cobb County Board of Education to comply with state and federal law, including FERPA and IDEA, concerning the confidentiality and release of student records and information. The Superintendent, or designee, shall develop and maintain rules and procedures for the granting of a request by parents to access the educational records of their children. The Superintendent, or designee, shall notify parents, guardians and eligible students of the types of information designated as Directory Information on an annual basis and provide parents, guardians and eligible students with an opportunity to opt out of the disclosure of any type of directory information by submitting appropriate documentation
