Boca’s First Library Established

of Boca Raton has started the community’s first library. The Club’s vision for a public library in Boca became a reality through hard work, dedication, and the spirit of volunteerism. The core of the library’s collection consists of a large number of fiction titles donated by the Friends of the Chicago Public Library, thanks to Mrs. Morris Stokes. The Boca Raton Woman’s Club has devised a novel method for further developing the Library’s book collection. They have been performing musicales featuring local talent. Audience members must bring a book to donate to the library in order to gain admission to a show. Local architect, Addison Mizner, has been supporting the cause by encouraging guests at the Boca Raton club to donate books that they have read while vacationing at the hotel to the library.
