From the beach to the Show Boat, the milk wagons and hippies, Kitsilano has a rich and varied history. Some of that fascinating history will be explored in a presentation by John Atkin through stories and recollections of former resi-dents. Many of these stories were col-lected for the City of Vancouver’s Por-trait V2K project, and from interviews appearing in an early video documen-tary of the neighbourhood. John Atkin is an author, historian and heritage advocate who organizes and conducts tours for groups and individuals throughout the City of Vancouver, including those in Kitsilano and his beloved Strathcona.
