cessing during my bachelor thesis, with the development of a computational grammar for Italian. During my Master in Language Technologies I was involved in a collaboration between the Univer-sity of Pisa (Italy) and the University of Bolzano (Italy), aimed at improving the accessibility of ontology-based data by using natural language queries instead of formal language queries. My con-tribution included the analysis of the distance between real-life natural language queries and formal queries and the design and development of text simplification techniques for automatically simpli-fying complex natural language queries. This work resulted in my master thesis (entitled: Natural Language and Ontologies. Text Simplification for human machine interaction) and in [3]. Afterwards, as a research assistant at the Institute of Computational Linguistics of Pisa (National Research Council- Italy), I started working on Information Extraction and related topics. In par-ticular I focused on Terminology Extraction from domain specific noisy data. The challenge of domain specific texts stands in the presence of low frequency relevant terms, that are not captured by traditional extraction methods. My contribution included the realization of a new technique of Terminology Extraction able to tackle this particularly challenging type of data. This research line resulted in [9, 10, 11].
