This paper illustrates how parallel & distributed simula-tion capabilities have been introduced in DEUS, our tool for the analysis of complex systems. Its essential Java API provides basic interfaces and classes for modeling nodes, events and processes that characterize the structure and dy-namics of any complex system. By supporting parallel & distributed simulations across multiple computing nodes, DEUS enables the analysis of large-scale complex systems. Its experimental validation has been obtained by means of the distributed simulation of a significant complex system, i.e. a large peer-to-peer network
