2 | P a g e This project will give a brief overview of composite materials. Three possible composite manufacturing methods that can fabricate bike frame are discussed. Twintex specimen made from vacuum bagging is tested using British Standard (BS) test guides. This is compared against FEA which is used to predict the specimen property. The second part of the project deals with manufacturing a composite bike. It discusses how the bike mould gets coated with primer and lacquer. Additionally, the bike frame in CAD drawing was converted from a solid geometry part to a surface geometry. This was imported from IGES format into Abaqus to produce the shell bike frame.
