Abstrmt: The results of a taxonomic study of Cardamine amain L. from the Carpathians and Pannonia are presented. Two subspecies, Cardamine amara L. subsp, amara and C. amara subsp, opicii (J. PRESL & C. PRESL) C"EI.AK., are shown to occur in the area studied. Full synonymy, descriptions, chromosome numbers, taxonomic history, distribution d_ata; and ecological notes are provided
