Soil erosion is acknowledged as a major environmental problem, threatening sustainable livelihoods around the world. Inappropriate land use and land management is often viewed as main cause of accelerated erosion rates. Therefore, prediction of soil erosion rates is important for prevention of its impact on the environment. For the River Basin Navotinski (Polimlje, Montenegro), we studied soil erosion processes, analyzing data on climate, relief, geological substrate and pedological composition, as well as the condition of the vegetation cover and the land use.
