Abstract — The ideal boundary of perfect electromagnetic con-ductor (PEMC) is extensively employed in a number of boundary value problems to model and simplify them. It is a generalized concept since it contains all the intermediate cases between the perfect magnetic conductor (PMC) and the perfect electric con-ductor (PEC). For these reasons, the realization of such a fictitious boundary through conventional materials has attracted consider-able attention during the recent years. In this work, we find the suitable materials that could optimally mimic the PEMC scatter-ing effect in the case of an electrically thin cylinder. Such a result could be used as a module in treating sizeable PEMC structures of arbitrary shape.
