Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have the capacity for multilineage differentiation and are being explored as a source for stem cell-based therapies. Previous studies have shown that adhesion to extracellular matrix plays a criti-cal role in guiding MSC differentiation to distinct lineages.
