We perform a numerical simulation in order to calculate the dielectric response, to a long wavelength external field, for a linear chain of polarizable spheres embedded in a homogeneous host. The dielectric response is calculated within the dipolar, quasi-static approximation, and the position of each sphere is generated using three different ypes of disorder algorithms. The induced ipole moment on each sphere is calculated by solving a set of linear equations and using periodic boundary conditions. The imaginary part of the dielectric response as a function of frequency is shown and analyzed for the three types of disorder. These are also characterized through the calculation of the two-particle dis-tribution function of the spheres. 1
