Result diversification has recently attracted much attention as a means of increasing user satisfac-tion in recommender systems and web search. Selecting diverse items, however, has been proven to be an NP-hard problem. In this paper, we focus of a common interpretation of diversity, namely content diversity, and present a number of heuristics that have been proposed in the literature for tackling this problem. We also provide a comprehensive experimental evaluation of their performance.
