This course serves as a bridge course for students admitted under Advanced Standing and builds on the knowledge and skill base of generalist social work practice. Students will refine, strengthen and broaden their knowledge and skill from their undergraduate learning experiences. This course focuses on social work methods and strategies for practice with diverse individuals, groups, families, communities and organizations. Emphasis is given to the fundamental practice principles guiding social work intervention at the micro, mezzo, and macro level, with special attention to the impact of diversity and the unique concerns of populations-at-risk.
