Layered Queueing Networks (LQN) are a formalism for modeling and predicting performance properties of software systems. After introducing the LQN formalism, this seminar paper should overview techniques and tools to represent and solve LQNs, including approaches to extract LQNs from traces gathered from running systems. In addition to studying and summarizing the LQN research literature, it is a mandatory part of this seminar to gather and share hands-on experience with the available tooling infrastructure. A possible novel contribution by this work could be work on extracting LQNs based on measurement data obtained with the Kieker framework. The provided references are to be considered a starting point and it is expected to extend the lite...
