Abstract. Appropriate user interfaces are required for robot controlling applications. Requirements may vary from case to case however a few of them seem to apply to all cases: commands that are easy to describe, graphical interfaces, a minimum amount of system knowledge required. Other robot scenarios may require remote controlling which is another situation where a graphical user interface seems appropriate. The interfaces should be easy to use, as friendly and familiar to the user as possible and should allow the user to concentrate on the task rather on how to do it. Computer vision interfaces prove to be more demanding as the user should perceive all the actions in real time (for example the action of grabbing an object by a robot arm...
