We study the solution of the output feedback tracking problem for incompletely observable nonlinear systems. We show that if there exists a practical internal model, i.e., a compensator yielding suitable observability prop-erties in the closed-loop system, one can find an output feedback controller achieving arbitrarily small asymp-totic tracking error.
