The automobile industry in Pakistan is one of the most significant sectors in large scale manufacturing industries. The industry was given protection against the foreign competition up to a large extent. This paper gives a detailed analysis on degree of protection from 1995 to 2005. In addition to this, it studies the level of indigenization the automobile firms achieved over a period of time.
