Praat is a program for doing phonetic analyses and sound manipulations (Boersma and Weenink (1992 2001)). It is available for many different platforms (Windows, Macintosh, Unix, Linux) and can be downloaded (for free) from www.praat.org. The source code is also available. The site also has a link to the Praat users group
