ERRATUM: MINIMAL SETS OF PERIODS FOR MORSE–SMALE DIFFEOMORPHISMS ON ORIENTABLE COMPACT SURFACES

Communicated by the editors Let f: Mg → Mg be a Morse-Smale diffeomorphism on Mg a compact ori-entable surface of genus g. In the article [1] we considered ζf (t) the Lefschetz zeta function of f. We showed that (1) ζf (t) = p(t) (1 − t)2 if f is orientation preserving and p(t) (1 − t2) if f is orientation reversing, where p(t) is the polynomial det(Id∗k − tf∗1), and f∗1 is the induced map on the 1-st homology group of Mg with rational coefficients.
