Abstract—This paper reviews properties and capabilities re-quired for cognitive architectures and identifies requirements for a memory model to be used within such an architecture. A model based on connectionist principles is proposed which follows the given desiderata. The model targets design goals such as generality and universality of application combined with high usability and direct applicability. Finally potential issues of the described methods are revealed that point out future reseach necessary in regard to the proposed approach. I
