Abstract—Increasing demand for mobility in wireless data network has given rise to various mobility management schemes. Most of the analysis on mobility protocols used Random Way-point (RWP) mobility model which fails to represent realistic movement pattern. In this paper, we have used City Section Mobility (CSM) model, a realistic mobility model, to compare the signaling costs of two host-mobility protocols: HIMPv6 and SIGMA, and two network-mobility protocols: NEMO BSP and SINEMO. Our analysis shows that the signaling cost of SIGMA (SINEMO) is much less than that of HMIPv6 (NEMO BSP) for both mobility models.
