Software fault injection is a method that intentionally introduces faults to assess their impacts and the response of the systems. Fault injection can also be used to increase the test coverage by triggering the parts of the code that are designed to handle faults. There are various fault injection techniques which range from source code manipulation to binary-level modification. This seminar paper shall investigate the techniques and tools which can be used for fault injection and their applications in complex software systems
