Abstract This paper presents an advanced course for CS master program students who have a solid background in image processing and partial (or none since the group is heterogeneous) knowledge in the logic design. This course presents advanced notions like data synchronism/availability, parallelization, access to the pixel neigborhood, rethinking the algorithm to make it more hardware-ecient (sharing ressources, using parallel data ow paths). We illustrate these notions on a contour detec-tor using the zero crossing of the Laplacian.
