APPROACH TO IMPROVING SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT

Software conguration management (SCM) is one of the areas closely related to achieving and maintaining quality of software in a broa-der sense. Our approach to the problem of building a software system con guration is based on an assumption that explicit repesentation of important properties of software components can be utilized for both improving the process of building the conguration, and also in a cer-tain sense, for improving the conguration (the product) itself, i.e. its quality. Our goal is to devise a method for building software system con guration from the system's model and requirements. We descri-be the proposed way of modelling software systems, its components and conguration requirement.
