The Government of Papua New Guinea was nominated to participate in the Pilot Program for Climate Resilience (PPCR) and accepted the offer in September 2009. As a pilot country, Papua New Guinea will receive support for scaled-up action and transformational change in integrating climate risk and resilience considerations into national development policies and planning while strengthening national capacity.
