Abstract: For interconnection of two or more areas in power system, frequency should be maintained within the scheduled value, which can be achieved by employing one of the most prominent techniques called as Automatic Load Frequency Control (ALFC). In ALFC, the frequency can be controlled in three ways, namely Flat frequency regulation, Parallel frequency regulation and Flat tie-line loading. Among these controls, Parallel frequency regulation is commonly used method, because constant frequency can be maintained by equalizing the power generation with the power demand.
