ACOUSTICAL AND MOLECULAR BEHAVIOR OF AQUEOUS NACL, KCL, BACL2,NA2SO4 AND MGSO4 SOLUTIONS AT 298.15K

Densities and Ultrasonic velocities of aqueous NaCl, KCl, BaCl2, Na2SO4 and Na2SO4 have been determined experimentally at different molalities at 298.15 K. From these experimental results the adiabatic compressibility Ks, acoustic impedance Z, apparent molar volume фv, adiabatic compressibility, фKs, and partial molal volume ф0v and partial molal adiabatic compressibility, ф0Ks at infinite dilution. The results are interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions in these systems. It has been observed that there exist strong solute-solvent interaction and dehydration effect in these binary systems. The properties of these electrolytes in water systems are discussed in terms of charge, size and hydrogen bonding effect
