The Board of Education recognizes that the preparation of a calendar for the instructional program of the schools is necessary for orderly educational planning and for the efficient operation of the district. The Board shall determine annually the days when the schools shall be in session for instructional purposes. Such school calendar shall consist of no fewer than the 180 days of instruction required by law. The Chief School Administrator shall prepare the school calendar for Board consideration in consultation with teacher and administrator association representatives and the County Superintendent. The Board reserves the right to alter the school calendar when feasible and advisable in the best interests of the children of the district....
