In this paper we address the problem of recovering structure and motion from the contours of a smooth-curved surface. A novel and simpler technique for computing the structure of an object from its profiles is introduced. Exper-iments with real data show encouraging results, which are comparable to those obtained from much more sophisticated techniques. Furthermore, a new method for motion estimation from sequences of profiles is proposed. Preliminary results demonstrate the feasibility of the algorithm.
