Different models over the years have been proposed to support the software cost estimation processes. Cocomo (Constructive Cost Model) is one of the successful models which enabled software engineers to reliably reason about the effort and schedule estimates. Since past few years different derivative models and extensions of Cocomo have been introduced to meet the emergent needs of different aspects of system engineering and software engineering.
