Games are used in an academic setting as a method to meet and reinforce learning objectives. In this analysis, observa-tions were made regarding student engagement during instruc-tional sessions before and after two games were introduced as a method to teach American Psychological Association standards for reference citations. Student and instructor comments, student behavior and the use of technology were considered to make improvements and to draw conclusions regarding the success of implementing these games
