Objective: Diabetes Mellitus is group of common metabolic disorders that share the phenotype of hyperglycemia. Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a familial disease with a lifetime risk of 40 % if one parent has Type 2 diabetes. Over-weight is the second risk factor for type 2 diabetes mellitus.
