The demographic change is inevitable and well known in most industrial-ized nations. While new medical technologies and knowledge improve the treating of diseases and injuries, the rising population of elderly people causes more and more medical interventions. A lot of these measures re-quire subsequent medical care in rehabilitation hospitals. However rehabil-itation hospitals are becoming incapable of meeting the rising demand. Furthermore the health system is getting economized and therefore con-fronted with a growing cost pressure. Nevertheless the quality of health care has to be ensured.
