Abstract: The paper shows the re-engineering process of a firm operating in the house furnishings industry. It arises from the consultant activities realized in a small Italian firm, operating within the house furnishings industry. The shift from a functional approach to a Process-Based approach allowed us to highlight both obstacles and limits to firm’s value creation. At same time, the paper points out how the BPR – Business Process Re-engineering – may be applied even in the smaller firms thanks to non-invasive technics, as well as by focusing on single processes.
