Abstract—Recently, the modeling and simulation of forest fire spread using discrete event formalisms have been inten-sively investigated. In this paper, we propose a non-modular approach vs. partial-modular and modular approaches based on Discrete EVent system Specification (DEVS) formalism to reduce exchanged messages between cells and to improve essentially performances of forest fire spread model. Note that the existing DEVS models simulate the forest fire spread for only small scale forests. Index Terms—forest fire spread M&S; DEVS. I
