Abstract:- Cr (VI) is highly toxic metal ion and considered as a priority pollutant released from various chemical industries like electroplating mixing activities, smelting, battery manufacture, tanneries etc. Effluents have been excessively released into the environment due to rapid industrialization and have created a global concern. Unlike organic wastes, Cr (VI) effluents are non biodegradable and they can be accumulated in living tissues, causing various diseases and disorders. Therefore they must be removed before discharge.
