Abstract: The Photonic crystal fibres – micro structured fibre consisting of air hole arrays running along its length – have attracted much attention for fibre device application because of its unusual optical properties such as high birefringence, high non-linearity and low confinement loss. A solid core PCF has been designed with circular air holes of different diameters and background index are calculated from Sellmeier equation.
