In-creasingly, therefore, agriculture is being recognized as part of the problem in international climate negotiations. While developed countries ’ emissions result mostly from industry, energy consumption and transport, FAO fi gures reveal that 74 % of all agricultural emissions originate in developing countries, and 70 % of the agricultural miti-gation potential can be realized in these same countries.
