The objectives of this article are to identify the challenges and the impact of open market concepts in haulage industry. The review of the literature in haulage industry reveals that there are not many studies conducted to examine the challenges and the impacts of open market concept to the haulage industry in Malaysia. The challenges identified are divided into two main challenges which consist of operational challenges and green goal challenges.
