Abstract: Problem statement: The performance of the optical network is highly dependent to Chromatic Dispersion (CD). CD has been a big issue when higher bitrate or longer distance is desired. Many methods have been represented to mitigate or eliminate this phenomenon. A wide range of optical and electrical compensation has been investigated. Approach: In this study we evaluate the efficiency of the electrical pulse shapes including (NRZ,RZ and Triangular form) in electrical compensation with Feed Forward-Decision Feedback Equalizer (FFE-DFE) technique and optical compensation; Dispersion Compensation Fiber.
