Health care technology has contributed to rising survival rates, yet health care spending relative to GDP has also grown more rapidly than in all developed countries. While a particular new technology may either increase or decrease health care spending, researchers generally agree that, taken together, advances in medical technology have contributed to rising health care expenditure. The results of all review of economic health suggest that medical technology does have a significant role in health care expenditures.
