Choose a resume format according to the amount of relevant experience you have linking to your desired employment opportunity: Chronological Resume (Most relevant experience) This type of resume works well for those with a solid work history relevant to the desired field as work experience is listed chronologically. Quickly draws the attention of potential employers to work experience and how they apply to the desired employment opportunity. Functional Resume/Skills Based (Very little or no relevant experience) Effective for individuals changing careers, recent graduates, or those with limited work experience where an emphasis on skills would be beneficial. Focuses on key skills gained from education, experience, volunteer and paid versus a detailed work history. Key skill sets for the job to which you are applying are identified and your relevant qualifications are grouped together. Combined Resume (Some relevant experience) Particularly effective for individuals with limited work experience where an emphasis on skills would be beneficial. Flexible in that it allows you to highlight relevant skills as well as the details of a select few employment or volunteer experiences that relate to the job that you are applying for
