Abstract — This paper concentrates on minimizing the total travel time of the Straddle Carrier during the loading operations of outbound containers in a seaport container terminal. Genetic Algorithm is well-known meta-heuristic approach inspired by the natural evolution of the living organisms. Heuristic procedure is developed to solve this problem by recourse to some genetic operators. A numerical experimentation is carried out in order to evaluate the performance and the efficiency of the solution. Keywords- Component; Container terminal optimization; routin
