To study the epidemiology and microbiology of surgical wound infections in patients in RMMCH. In our study we aimed at finding the etiology and sensitivity patterns of the microorganisms isolated from the wound infections. This study is conducted for a period of 6 months (July 2012 to December 2012) in RMMCH a 1400 bedded tertiary care hospital situated in southern India. All patients undergoing surgeries and having complaints of postsurgical infections are identified and included in the study. A total of 176 patients are enrolled in the study based upon the inclusion and exclusion criteria. 238 samples were collected from 176 patients and are analysed.
