Decompression illness (DCI) is a dreaded condition for divers around the world. Paraesthesias, paralysis, loss of bladder control, and even death are a few severe manifestations of this illness. As SCUBA diving popularity is increasing tremendously all over the world, number of divers at risk for DCI is also increasing. To create awareness among divers, it is important to understand actual frequency of DCI incidents, risk factors involved and specific reasons behind such incidents. To address this problem, an extensive search of electronic database was performed and all DCI incident records of humans were analyzed.
