Drought is one of the natural disasters that weaken the sustainable development of people and their resources. Shortage of rainfall coupled with its erratic distribution during rainy season causes severe water deficit conditions resulting in various intensities of droughts. Generally 90 % of the annual rainfall in India falls in the months of June to September due to South West monsoon. Long breaks in the monsoon are abrupt resets of its disastrous to crops which produces droughts followed by famine in the district.
