Winter season (December –February) time over North-West India is badly affected by low visibility Phenomena (Fog /Mist /Haze) every year. Mostly radiation fog generated in clear sky, calm wind and humid (~90 %) conditions or after passing the westward moving synoptic scale weather systems prevails over the area. The day to day activities related to traffic (land, sea, air) and related economic growth of the country severely affected. Timely forecasting of fog is very difficult task for meteorologists.
