Abstract- This study exhibits synthesis of full-state LQR controllers for suppression of free and forced vibration of a cantilever plate fully and partially treated with the magneto-rheological (MR) fluid. The governing equations of motion of the three layer MR sandwich composite plate are showed in the state variable form containing a function of the control magnetic field. An optimal control elaboration based on the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) developed to conquer the vibration of the plate under limited magnetic field intensity. The free-and forced vibration control performances of LQR control strategies are assessed for the fully as well as partially treated MR-fluid sandwich composite plates.
